The new update fixes a number of bugs affecting Samsung’s phablet.
Samsung rolled out Android 4.1.2 for the Galaxy Note 2 back in May. Now they’ve rolled out a new stability update which fixes a couple of bugs unwittingly introduced by the previous update, including the battery drain issue.
After updating to Android 4.1.2, Galaxy Note 2 owners reported a significant reduction in the Note 2′s battery-life. Thankfully, this new update – which is still based on Android 4.1.2 – addresses the issue, as well as fixing a number of other bugs.
Owners of the Galaxy Note 2 can download the new update over-the-air and it’s already begun rolling out across Europe. You should receive a automatic notification when it becomes available, but you can always run a manual check to be sure.
It’s only a small update, but we’d still recommend backing up your files and data in-case anything goes wrong. You can easily backup your device using Samsung’s Kies software on your desktop PC.
Android 4.2.2 Is Still To Come
Samsung previously confirmed that they would be rolling out Android 4.2.2 to the Galaxy Note 2 – with the update due to land in the 3rd quarter of 2013. That’ll bring a whole host of updates to Samsung’s phablet – potentially including Smart Pause and Smart Scroll, which were introduced on the Galaxy S4.
As soon as we get more news about the Galaxy Note 2 you’ll be the first to know!
