Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review (& Why S4 Is Still No Alternative) - SidhTech

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 looks like the Samsung Galaxy S4 so much that the devices could actually be twins. However one of them is of course much larger than the other one. They both share the same touch buttons and have the same overall form factor thanks to Samsung not making changes to the form factor of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

When the Samsung Galaxy S4 came out some people said that would not be very popular as it was too big. However they were wrong and it did go on to become a best-seller. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a larger display than the predecessor but thanks to the thin bezel it doesn’t look that much bigger. It measures 5.5 inches, which is larger than the 4.99 inches of the Samsung Galaxy S4. One of the differences between the devices is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a display of 720 p HD while the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a display of 1080p which is full HD.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is perfect for those who have large hands, but you should buy a headset for talking.

The hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 takes a larger leap for hardware compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3, but the same cannot be said about the Samsung Galaxy S4. The device as 2GB of RAM and the Exynos 1.6GHz quad core processor. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has 2GB and it also has two sets of quad cores. This means that it is an octa-core monster. This means that one set of cores can be used for menial tasks and the other can kick in when needed.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has the large 3100mAh battery which can be compared to the 2500mAh of the original Note. This means that you may be able to get around 12 hours from the handset when talking. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a smaller battery of 2,600 mAh and this has the same talking time, both of the handsets come with LTE.

The camera on the front of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is 8 megapixels and there is also a 1.9 on the front. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a 13 megapixel camera on the back and it has a camera of 2 megapixel on the front. We took some shots in low light conditions and it worked well along with the shutter speed being quick.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with the S Pen and this has been improved and now gives the feel of writing with pen on paper. As you take it out of the dock you have apps at your fingertips which include Air View, which allows you to preview content and Easy Clip so that you can crop photos.

Multi-windows is great and this means that two apps can be opened at the same time and the user can resize them independently of each other. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has tech that allows you to however with your finger. It comes with eye tracking and a dual camera. Some but not all of the features could come to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in a software update. The Samsung Galaxy S4 lacks the S Pen stylus.

In the world of phablets the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was the game changer. 5 million units have been sold. of course some people will choose a smaller handset and so they will go for the Samsung Galaxy S4. Those who do miss the large display, S Pen and larger battery. The S Pen is handy to have around, which the features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 are cool and they are things that you can brag to friends.
