Galaxy Note 2 vs LG Nexus 4: Enough vs More Than Enough - SidhTech

One of the best devices on the market right now in terms of hardware is the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The device has the 5.5 inch display that is Super AMOLED and it comes with Jelly Bean 4.1 and 2GB of RAM, a quad core processor and two cameras that can take videos and photos in HD. On the down side the device runs TouchWiz and this does slow down the update process somewhat.

LG Nexus 4 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is set at $ 299 with a contract of two years.

On the other end of the spectrum is the LG Nexus 4 which comes with a ridiculously low $ 299 price tag. Now before you think that is the same as the Note 2, this price is for an off-contract model. By comparison the Note 2 off-contract will set you back around $ 700. Not only is the price cut of course as LG has cut out a couple of other things as well to justify the lower price tag, whilst at the same time kept the major things in place to make it one of the most attractive handsets on the market .

The LG Nexus 4 comes with a better screen that what the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 offers. This is the IPS HD 4.7 inch 1280 x 768 display with 318ppi. It comes with a quad core processor and 2GB of RAM and it runs pure Android 4.2. The front and back have been designed in glass and it has two cameras, both of which take HD video and photos. The camera on the front is 1.3 megapixel and the back camera is 8 megapixel, which takes 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It comes with face detection and touch focus.

Comparing both devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 does offer more than the LG Nexus 4. It has a larger display, more storage, faster data connectivity (LTE), add stylus and s-pen features, MHL and more.

The LG Nexus 4 tries to keep things simple but at the same time making sure it is classed as a flagship model. It has a better exterior design than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, solid camera and display, latest Android update with promise of future ones and as mentioned above, an unbeatable price tag. All in all it is a well-balanced package.

In the end both devices are great buys. The likely deciding factor will come down to two things – the price tag and whether you can suffice with what the LG Nexus 4 has to offer or if you need more such as LTE which the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 offers.
