C using their system-on-a-chip Tegra series to ompaniya persistently tries to occupy a niche in the mobile devices, although at the moment, these attempts have not brought us considerable success. In the more expensive segment ruled Qualcomm, the budget is gathering momentum MediaTek. The main argument in this segment Nvidia Tegra is 4 (on commercial devices with K1 too early to say). Tegra 4 came on a small number of products, particularly – portable game console Nvidia Shield and 7-inch tablet Tegra NOTE 7, which under its own brand company Nvidia does not sell. In Ukraine, Nvidia releases its partnership with Gazer, with Gazer Tegra NOTE 7 and today we take a closer look.
Specifications Gazer Tegra NOTE 7
Inside, as we have found above, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4. To be precise, 4 +1 nuclear: the basic four core ARM Cortex-A15 processor with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz and an auxiliary for simple tasks with frequency 500 MHz. Incidence of major nuclei slightly lower than the Shield (1.9 GHz), but it is not particularly critical given the rest of the filling, the amount of RAM – 1 GB. Screen tablet has a 7-inch, IPS-matrix is ??used, its resolution of 1280×800 that outstanding performance at the moment can not be named, though to complete the work is enough. An interesting addition is complete with stylus recognition Velocity, which we say a few words separately later.

Package
addition to the tablet in the box are USB-cable, charger and instructions. No additional cables and covers provided by the manufacturer, which is a pity (given the MicroHDMI and support USB OTG).
Appearance and design
housing plate made entirely of black plastic, preferably matte, only glossy decorative strips on the rear panel, which positively affects the usability and appearance of fingerprints tablet hardly collects. Dimensions are standard for its tablet form factor. Assembled plate well, no scratches and no backlash.
The front panel of almost all the space takes protective glass, beneath which is a display, stereo speakers and a front camera. Manufacturer focuses on stereo speakers with bass reflex technology and NVIDIA PureAudio, whereby the plate should produce a loud and good quality sound. In practice, compared with other tablets opportunity never arrived, but the stock volume is more than sufficient.
Most of the space occupies the rear cover with perforated inset tisnennnoy nadpistyu Tegra Note, above and below – the insertion of opaque plastic, they are located Gazer logo and informational signs. The camera lens is located in the upper right corner.
At the bottom (in portrait orientation) are a silo and a phase inverter for improved bass response.
At the top end – port MicroUSB, MicroHDMI , headphone jack and power button. By the way, all the ends of the plate are beveled, it adds convenience when you hold it, but the buttons (the same applies to the power button) the same shape as the housing, push them hard enough.

Display
In the tablet, the 7-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1280×800. If you can not find fault with the lower (by the standards of modern tablets) resolution, the display produces a nice impression is good enough set matrix with wide viewing angles and brightness with well formed and reserve adequately functioning tuning. It supports 10-finger multitouch.

Interface
Out of the box on plate installed Android 4.2.2, Nvidia promised to promptly release updates over the air. So it is, when you first connect to the Wi-Fi tablet joyfully announced the availability of updates, as a result, we have a tablet with a nearly naked Android 4.4.2 KitKat. We proceed to clarify the word “almost”: visually from stock Android is no difference, but Nvidia still added something of his own. To begin with – the menu item “Energy”:
Here there is a dynamic backlight technology PRISM, which (as the manufacturer says) reduces brightness without loss of image quality, thereby allowing you to save battery power.
nSaver – control of background processes and configure the CPU. There are three positions: Maximum performance, balance and conserves power. The names speak for themselves, in the latter case to save off two of the four main cores.

Stylus
Included with the tablet has a stylus Nvidia DirectStylus. You can adjust the thickness of the lines depending on the playing strength.
When removing the pen appears run standard applications for drawing and note-taking. Perhaps selecting, copying and overlaying the screen:

Performance and autonomy
Expectedly, a bunch of Tegra 4 plus 1 GB of RAM and a low screen resolution resulting in an excellent performance, that can be seen in the results of synthetic tests, Epic Citadel on Ultra High Quality tablet provides 57.1 fps, in AnTuTu result – 34559 parrots:
Tested games Injustice, Dead Trigger 2, Real Racing 3 and Shadowgun, no brakes seen none. Interface itself also feels great.
Battery capacity (4100 mAh) caused some concern, as it turned out – for good reason. With the included Wi-Fi tablet plays video around 9:00, a very good indicator.
Camera
main camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, instead of the standard applications installed Camera Awesome, with abundant number of settings and electronic level, that the horizon was not swamped .
Besides custom applications worth remembering about the architecture of NVIDIA Chimera, which allows you to take HDR-pictures “on the fly.” In fact, the camera takes pictures really fast, including HDR, image quality can be found here:

The bottom
Gazer Tegra NOTE 7 turned pleasant to use 7 – nimble inch tablet with a decent battery life and loud speakers. For someone to be a useful addition presence of functional stylus. On the other hand someone might alienate low (by today’s standards) resolution display, although in my case I did not feel discomfort, not the best vision does not allow for such a diagonal peer at each pixel. As the company said earlier, in Ukraine the cost would be about $ 280, given the daily exchange rate, transfer rates in hryvnia I will not. The main competitor I would call Nexus July 2013. At comparable prices in the side Tegra Note 7 higher performance, availability and stylus slot for memory cards MicroSD, on the side of the Nexus – a higher resolution screen and a more rapid renewal (although this is not essential, Tegra Note 7 runs on the latest to date version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat).
