Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 Kitkat OS Update: What Not to Expect - IBTimes India

Women stand in front of an ad during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear in Jakarta, September 26, 2013.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll-out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just started in US and will reach out to every single user within the next few weeks. While many Galaxy Note 2 users look forward to receive the OS update, many users have also been waiting for the Android 4.4 Kitkat update.

Samsung has not yet mentioned anything about the Android Kitkat update and it is unlikely that the brand will reveal anything until it deploys Jelly Bean OS in every Galaxy Note 2. However, we have some pointers, which might be important for the Galaxy Note 2 users.

Early and Specific Release Date Information

One of the things Galaxy Note 2 users should not expect is Samsung’s or any other carrier’s announcement of early and specific dates for the Kitkat OS update.

For such kind of information, the user would have to depend on certain leaks to get an idea of ??its release date, which would not be specific.

Samsung, like most of the companies, does not reveal the update dates for its software until the roll-out begins.

It is being speculated that the Kitkat OS might release in or around April 2014 for Galaxy Note 2 users, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not be one of those handsets which get the update earlier than other flagship models. In fact, it is being said that the handset might be the last one to receive the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.

It has been noted that Samsung likes to provide the OS updates to its recently launched models, which will be Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, and then would aim for Galaxy S3 followed by Note 2 since S3 is much widely used.

However the release dates for both S3 and Note 2 would stay close to each other.
