We were hit on the review version with 32 GB of flash memory.
In the tablet contains the following sensors: automatic brightness control, orientation (G-sensor), magnetometer, gyroscope. There are two LEDs: on the front panel (blue and white) and on / off switch (the color changes from red to blue and white).
In addition, studies carried out in the laboratory testing (characterized picky and meticulous) in the plate hidden undocumented feature works as a GPS-navigator.
It should also be noted that the results of checkweighing actual weight of the device (391 g) was slightly higher than the stated (380 g).
Packing and equipment
ASUS tablet is packed in a box made of thin but strong cardboard, decorated in bright colors:
At the top and side surfaces of the device information bit: only its name and the sign «intel inside», familiar to us from childhood .
A little more information is presented on the bottom side of the box:
Thus, the detailed technical specifications of the product is no on one of the sides of the package that is not very convenient for the consumer and for the seller.
The top cover of the box can not be removed completely, and folds along the “long” axis of the package. The role of the loop is performed neat fold cardboard (pictured below protective bag from the tablet is removed).
Configuration presented in the following, frankly, minimalist consisting of:
- tablet itself;
- Charger;
- MicroUSB cable;
- User Manual and Warranty Card.
In addition, as a bonus was attached adapter with US-Asian standard power outlets on the European (in the photo is not presented due to the triviality, together with user manual and warranty card).
The set is clearly not enough microUSB adapter with a normal USB, USB port for here, as in all Windows-PCs, very functional and useful. Would not prevent another and cover (cover), and more or less decent headphones would not be superfluous.
A more detailed look at some of the accessories from the kit and start with the charger:
It is connected to the tablet via a removable microUSB-USB cable from the same kit. The voltage at the output – standard 5 V, and the maximum output current – 2 A. It’s quite a large value, and in the process of feeding device “charge” significantly heated.
Cable microUSB-USB – the most common, and is different from the millions of their fellow only labeled «ASUS» at the “big” connector.
Now that the consideration of the characteristics and supplied complete You can initiate a review of ASUS VivoTab Note 8.
Appearance and design
Appearance tablet is made in a very strict dark colors, the angles made with moderate rounding. Front panel concise but elegant.
It contains the window of the front camera, the sensor automatically adjust the brightness, and LED notifications (pictured above it lit and can be seen as a small bright dots).
Sensor automatic brightness control and LED notifications (in the extinguished condition) is absolutely invisible. Last ignited a gentle blue-white light at certain events (for example, by activating the front camera).
The back cover plate is made of a “soft touch” plastic is extremely black. It produces a very pleasant experience, and even touch her nicely. It placed the rear window of the chamber, the openings of the stereo, a “pocket” for the stylus, as well as the kinds of labels and stickers.
The holes are spaced stereo speakers a good distance and are located at the opposite sides of the rear cover. This is a good sign, giving a sense of hope in stereo sound (which subsequently confirmed).
Window rear camera in the reflected light looks slightly bluish, indicating the presence of anti-reflective coating. Such care manufacturer of optics gives hope that the photos will not turn out the quality is below average.
Stylus inoperative fully retracts into the case and is secured up there with the best effort: the fall itself can not; and to get it, do not need excessive force. In the picture below, it is shown in a partially extended position:
This is how the stylus looks separate from the body. As you can see, it is very dark, and even the ASUS logo on it dark gray and slightly stands out.
The tip (tip) of the stylus lightly spring loaded to transfer the pressure on the appropriate sensor.
In general, despite the relatively simple form of the tablet shell, thanks to the colors of high-quality materials and it makes a very solid impression about how black “Mercedes”.
Now let’s look at the four pan-lateral angle and mark the remaining small parts of the external appearance of the gadget. View from above:
The top of the connectors are located microUSB and stereo.
Bottom view:
On the bottom just do not.
Left side view:
There is a slot for microSD memory card and the Windows key , which can be used to “wake” the screen and switch the interface of Windows from “tile” to “Desktop” and vice versa.
View from the right:
are located on the right edge (left to right): Thumbnail microphone hole (barely visible), on-off button, volume rocker, and a stylus.
The button on-off switch is also the charge indicator of the tablet:
When charging indicator on the unit lights up red, when it switches to the completion of the color blue and white. And he and the other color – not bright and the image of a strict model does not spoil.
By the way, the same photo is somewhat better discernible microphone hole as a small dark spot to the left of the trapezoidal charge indicator.
To the previously set out remains to add that the tablet is built extremely high quality, is not seen even the slightest backlash and “turbulence” of any parts. As a small criticism may be mentioned that both buttons and volume rocker pressed firmly just above the optimum, and click when pressed malooschutim.
