Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users can now upgrade to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean officially. They can now access the Over-the-Air or OTA update through Samsung KIES manual download or through their handset’s system. Installation instructions:

1. Use winrar or winzip to extract the firmware zip file:. Tar.md5 file plus other files.

2. Extract Odin zip file to access Odin3 v3.07.exe and other important files.

3. Turn off the handset.

4. Boot the handset in Download Mode. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons. Wait for the Android icon to show up. Use the Volume Up button to go into Download Mode.

5. Access Odin in the computer. Run it as administrator.

6. Connect the Galaxy Note 2 to the computer via USB. Wait for the Odin to detect the device. The ID: COM should turn light blue along with the port number of the COM. The screen should say the device was added successfully. Reinstall the USB drivers if this does not happen.

7. Choose the following files from the firmware folder: PDA (. Tar.md5 file), Phone (MODEM), CSC (CSC), PIT (. Pit file). If there are no files then proceed with the next step.

8. Under Odin, allow Auto Reboot and Factory Reset. Confirm all.

9. Following installation the phone will restart.

Go to Settings, check About Phone to see if the firmware has been installed.
