Samsung Thought to Be Prepping GS3 and Note 2 KitKat Update for Spring 2014 - MobileSyrup.com

 gnote2-3

Canadian Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 users just started getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update this week, but it looks like Samsung is already working on bringing KitKat to its last generation flagship devices (as well as the Note 3 and GS4 , obviously).

iTechAddict points to a leaked Samsung memo that allegedly came from Samsung R & D India. This document suggests the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 will get KitKat in January of next year while the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will get the update sometime between March and April. Though Samsung hasn’t yet commented on the report, iTechAddict says Galaxy users can expect an official announcement sometime in December.

Of course, dates of update availability will vary depending on region and carrier, but it’s encouraging to know those with older Samsung devices won’t be left out in the cold. Especially when you consider the fact that the Galaxy S5 is said to be launching in March or April. Rumour has it the GS5 will pack a 64-bit Exynos or Snapdragon SoC, 3 GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera, a huge 4,000 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz on top.

can argue that it is better – aluminum or plastic (polycarbonate). And berate Samsung for copying the design of the housing units, actually only changing dimensions, but in the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005, this trick will not work.

Instead gloss used clearance under the skin. It really is very similar to genuine leather, many who take the first smartphone in hand, wonders such implementation. Immediately it should reassure the representatives of the camp of “green” and advocates of “cows”: it’s still plastic, or one cow run during production was not affected.

Remember side bezel, stylized metal? In actual representatives of the line Galaxy, in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 he also survived, but there sidebands. Discern the stylized notebook in any way with them the body tries not to slip out of hand.

As mentioned above, the body, compared to Note 2, is lighter (from 183 to 168 grams) and thinner (151.1 to 151.2 mm), but became a millimeter longer. version with support for LTE is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 800 2.26GHz. He works in tandem with Adreno 330 graphics. This is the most up-to-date chip in the line of Qualcomm. Actually solving it just started to enter the market, and the beginning of next year will be marked on the same flagship chip. The new 805 is so far only declared for release. When choosing between Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Samsung ExynosOcta 5420, I personally would opt for the former, it is more common, more manufacturers optimize their games and software is under the chips Qualcomm. The difference in performance can be viewed in the table below Antutu, there are given both versions Note 3. In general, both solutions have the margin and will not soon experience any problems running software and games.

In Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 first began to use 3 GB of RAM. In the analysis of user reviews and opinions Samsung Galaxy S4, after the publication of our test, often freezes noted in some cases of firm shell TouchWiz. Here everything is running smoothly and smartly.

glad that manufacturer, despite the 32 GB of internal memory, not refused to support memory cards. In fact, the memory can be expanded up to 96 GB (using micro SD 64GB).

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 Kitkat OS Update: What Not to Expect - IBTimes India

Women stand in front of an ad during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear in Jakarta, September 26, 2013.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll-out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just started in US and will reach out to every single user within the next few weeks. While many Galaxy Note 2 users look forward to receive the OS update, many users have also been waiting for the Android 4.4 Kitkat update.

Samsung has not yet mentioned anything about the Android Kitkat update and it is unlikely that the brand will reveal anything until it deploys Jelly Bean OS in every Galaxy Note 2. However, we have some pointers, which might be important for the Galaxy Note 2 users.

Early and Specific Release Date Information

One of the things Galaxy Note 2 users should not expect is Samsung’s or any other carrier’s announcement of early and specific dates for the Kitkat OS update.

For such kind of information, the user would have to depend on certain leaks to get an idea of ??its release date, which would not be specific.

  • Google Plus

Samsung, like most of the companies, does not reveal the update dates for its software until the roll-out begins.

It is being speculated that the Kitkat OS might release in or around April 2014 for Galaxy Note 2 users, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not be one of those handsets which get the update earlier than other flagship models. In fact, it is being said that the handset might be the last one to receive the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.

It has been noted that Samsung likes to provide the OS updates to its recently launched models, which will be Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, and then would aim for Galaxy S3 followed by Note 2 since S3 is much widely used.

However the release dates for both S3 and Note 2 would stay close to each other.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Back and Menu Button Not Responding - The Droid Guy

Galaxy Note 2 Back and Menu Button Not Responding

One Android Smartphone user shared to us the problem that he is encountering. According to him, the issue involves the Galaxy Note 2 Back and Menu buttons not responding. He stated that before the problem happened, the LCD of his phone got cracked so he had it replaced.

Although there was no mention how his display was damaged, we could only assume that a strong impact caused by deliberate or accidental dropping of the phone might have been the cause.

A couple of days after replacing the LCD of his device, he noticed that the Galaxy Note 2 Back and Menu buttons have become unresponsive.

The Possible Causes of the Galaxy Note 2 Back and Menu Button Not Responding and its Solutions

Unfortunately, the problem is most probably connected with the impact that cracked the LCD of the phone. It is likely that the sensors located in the area of ??the Back and Menu buttons have been damaged too. If this is the case, it is strongly advised to have the phone looked at by a technician who specializes in the hardware of the Galaxy Note 2.

A temporary remedy for the hardware problem if you have no way to reach a technician right away is by performing a Soft Reset, which can be done by holding the Power / Lock button until the phone reboots. You can also detach and reattach the battery again to reset the phone. However, these methods will only provide temporary solution to your problem. In addition, these methods will only work if the hardware problem is not that serious yet.

If you suspect that the problem is only software-related, a Factory Reset will probably do the trick. But, then again, looking at the details provided to us by the sender, our best bet is a hardware problem.

Samsung's Galaxy Grand 2 is the size of a Galaxy Note but lacks the stylus - Engadget

The Galaxy Grand 2 is another big phone (5.25 inches this time), but while it might share the screen-size with the Galaxy Note family, there are a few hardware changes that make this smartphone more middleweight than flagship. There’s 8GB of base storage, with microSD expansion up to 64GB, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and no stylus. The rear-facing 8-megapixel camera also might not stand up to comparisons against the higher pixel-count varieties. Compared to the original Galaxy Grand, which housed a pretty limp 800 x 480 WVGA screen, the sequel’s incrementally bigger screen now cranks that up to a passable 720p. The phone will also arrive running Android 4.3, in white, black and pink color options. There’s still no LTE on the model, but (at least?) There’s dual-SIM slots which means the smartphone is likely to make a global roll-out at a presumably moderate price. When we hear the specifics, we’ll let you know.
